Sculpture All Around

“JOURNEY WITH ME,” a mixed-media installation by artist Zigi Ben-Haim that explores the creation of life, is currently on display at the medical school campus. Running through the end of 2002, the 11-piece exhibit pops up in unexpected places. The exhibit is sponsored by International Arts & Artists and Washington University School of Medicine.

Carl Frieden, PhD, professor and head of biochemistry and molecular biophysics, brought the idea for an on-campus art installation to Dean William A. Peck, MD, and worked with Glen Gentele, director of St. Louis’ Laumeier Sculpture Park, to secure the exhibit. Architect Paul Duell, design and construction, and Walt Davis, assistant dean for facilities, handled the physical details.

The result? An engaging cultural experience—right around the corner.
