White Coat Ceremony, other welcome events mark matriculation of new Washington University School of Medicine students

Medical students participate in the White Coat Ceremony, where they don the white coat — long a symbol of the medical profession — and recite their newly penned class oath. Other programs, including the Division of Biology and Biomedical Sciences (DBBS) and the Programs in Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Audiology and Communication Sciences, hold welcome celebrations that offer students the opportunity to meet one another as well as program faculty and staff.
